How many streams will my song receive?

The number of streams varies for each campaign based on many factors including the strength of the song and which genres you select.

To date, Playlist Push has helped over 25,000 artists reach over a billion listeners. However, due to numerous variables, results can vary between campaigns. Please note: results are not guaranteed, as curators have full discretion over whether to add songs.

Factors You (the Artist) Control

  1. Number of Genres and Playlists Targeted: The more playlists you target, the higher the potential reach.

  2. Strength/Quality of the Song: Curators are more likely to select high-quality, engaging songs.

  3. Genre Alignment: Selecting genres that align well with your song can increase the likelihood of being added to playlists.

Factors Controlled by Curators and Their Listeners

  1. Playlist Position: Songs placed higher on a playlist generally receive more streams. Listener engagement often decreases as they progress through the playlist.

  2. Duration on Playlist: The longer your song remains on a playlist, the more streams it can accumulate.

  3. Playlist Activity Level: The activity level of a playlist's followers significantly impacts stream counts. On average, about 10% of a playlist's followers are active listeners.

Why Playlist Followers Don’t Equal Streams

It's unrealistic to expect 50,000 streams from a playlist with 50,000 followers. On average, playlists have around 10% active listeners.

Example: If you are added to a playlist with 50,000 followers, and 10% of those followers are active, this playlist will have 5,000 active listeners per month.

How Track Positioning Influences Your Streams

The position of your song on a playlist is crucial. For example, on a workout playlist, listeners might drop off after an hour (approximately 20 songs). However, on a chill or easy-going playlist, listeners might stay engaged for longer periods.

Example: If your song is placed in the #1 position on a playlist with 50,000 followers and 10% active listeners, it could generate around 5,000 active listeners per month. If it remains in the top spot for three months, it could receive around 15,000 listeners.

Impact of Duration on Playlist

Curators determine the position and duration of your song on their playlist. If a curator loves your song, they might place it higher and keep it longer. Your song might move down as new songs are added.

Example: If your song is placed in the #1 position on a playlist with 50,000 followers and 10% active listeners, it could generate around 5,000 listeners per month. If it remains in the top spot for three months, it could receive around 15,000 listeners.

Note: Curators are not required or incentivized to add songs to their playlists. Campaigns do not guarantee any placements.
